Women Empowerment

The critical elements of the human development concept- productivity, equality, sustainability and empowerment, demand that gender issues are addressed as development issues and as human rights concerns. The reason -development if not engendered in endangered.

POWER is to organize, educate and mobilize women as Self-help Groups (SHG) from the rural sectors of society. The SHG women federation has been deeply involved in improving the education, health and hygiene of rural women.

POWER with 1150 SHGs,

• Creates and coordinates SHGs to promote financial and emotional independence
• promotes and greets sustainable development initiatives
• motivates women to take-up revenue generating activities by providing
  vocational skills and marketing support
• Generates awareness and prevent sexual abuse, sexual discrimination
  and all kinds of violence against women
