Given the fact that many women who aspire to look forward to becoming economically independent in rural villages POWER has identified about Three Hundred villages in the District of Thanjavur, Pudukottai and Nagapattinam to nurture to skills and aspirations of women both skilled and semi-skilled. POWER identifies such ignited minds provided training on entrepreneurial skills of their choice and liking, enables them to keep their book of accounts and organized for funds too. The wide range of activities under this category ranges from Tailoring, finished embroidery items, pottery, piggery, bakery, alternative construction material, waste land cultivation, poultry, cattle farms and many other specific activities as found suitable in the respective environment of the locality from where these rural women's hail from. POWER had enabled many women to lead the glorious lamp of self sustainable business houses thereby setting example to others in the area and as well as neighborhood areas.

Given the rich cultural tradition and heritage that is prevalent in Thanjavur and neighbouring districts of Pudukottai and Nagapattinam there is an abundant skill amongst the women with regard to designing of toys, Across the globe familiarly know as Thanjavur Doll, designing t decor plates better known as Thanjavur Plates, embroidery skills and in making paper pulp based products like paper bags, plates. POWER has identified carefully skills that are available with the women in villages and provided them training either in house or by bringing skills available from known experts in these areas. This enabled the women's to do these activities at home thereby enabling them to generate consistently good revenue and what is more happier for them, respect combined with dignity and pride.
