POWER

Periyar Organization for Women Empowerment and Renaissance, very popularly known as POWER is a house hold name in the hamlets of deltaic districts of Tamil Nadu, India. The name has set inspiration and motivation in the minds of numerous women who were in search for improvement and empowerment in their life. POWER is a public, voluntary, non- profit and non-governmental organization established in 1998. POWER's objective is to consolidate the efforts of the Periyar Society in advocating women empowerment and offering relevant services. POWER spreads its activities in Social, Economical, Environmental, Health, Legal and Institutional spheres of life of women for their empowerment and upliftment.

POWER with its dedicated, caring, empathetic and experienced team spreads its wings in a fast and consistent manner with its several novel programme and strategies to meet rural poor's practical and strategic needs as well as facilitate their empowerment in a substantive way.

POWER within eight years with its continuous effectiveness in drawing upon resources has shown remarkable development and constructive activities with proven track records and heartfelt appreciation from the beneficiaries. POWER has utilized all its resources, knowledge, good will and the infrastructure available at the Periyar schools with conviction and commitment towards achieving its targets. It acted as a breeze for the needy, affected and persons who needed help and Tsunami in emergencies and the interests of the women were checked.
